MarinHealth Medical Center – Patient Visitation
LEVEL 1

Patient Population Visitors / Caregivers Notes
Emergency Department
  • Adult Patients:
    2 healthy visitors
  • Pediatric Patients:
    2 healthy visitors

If the waiting room is full, visitors may be asked to wait outside or in another hospital visitor lounge until the patient is roomed.

Adult Inpatient
(Cardiac, ICU, PMC, Medical & Surgical)

  • Visitors per day:
    No maximum
  • Visitors at bedside:
    2 at a time
  • Overnight visitor: Maximum 1 person, if pre-approved by the unit
Overnight visitors are not permitted in double rooms, or in acute critical care units, unless there are extenuating circumstances
Pediatric Inpatient
  • Visitors per day:
    No maximum
  • Visitors at bedside:
    2 at a time
  • Overnight:
    1 parent/guardian
Outpatient Services (Radiology, Surgery, Lab, Antepartum Testing, Outpatient Infusion, Lactation, etc.)

Visitors per day:
No Maximum (must wait in designated visitor lounges, unless invited back by staff)

Lactation allowed 1 support person in the room
Maternity
(Labor & Delivery / Post-Partum)
  • Visitors per day:
    No maximum
  • During labor: Determined by patient & care team
  • Overnight (after labor): 1 support person (no children)
The number of visitors may be limited at any time by the patient or care team, to allow mom and baby to rest
NICU
  • Visitors per day:
    No maximum
  • Visitors at bedside: 2 at a time
  • Overnight: 2 parents/guardians
OB ED Triage 1 support person allowed in the triage room Additional visitors must wait in designated visitor lounges
Behavioral Health
(Inpatient Unit)
2 healthy visitors The Behavioral Health unit has specific visiting times (and no overnight visitors) – please contact unit directly
Creekside Café No Restrictions

Exceptions will only be made for urgent/necessary/legal visitation (ex: End of Life) and must be approved by the unit manager/director or Administrative Nursing Supervisor (ANS)

1 parent / guardian allowed 24/7 (2 parents / guardians can switch out)

Parents / guardians can switch 2x per day in the hospital lobby
Outpatient Services
(Radiology, Surgery, Lab, Antepartum Testing, Outpatient Infusion, Lactation, etc.)
No visitors

An escort may be granted for elderly/disabled patients

Exception: Lactation may be allowed 1 support person
Maternity

Visitors allowed to switch every 24 hours if needed

Note: Doulas may be suspended at any time during surges
