Areas of Volunteer Service

We are proud to offer so many great opportunities for anyone who wishes to volunteer at MarinHealth Medical Center. The positions accommodate high school students as young as 16 years old, college students, to general adults and senior populations. Please let our Volunteer Coordinator know if you have special skills (clerical work, retail sales, computers, etc.) Below you will find a list of current opportunities:

Volunteer Opportunities for High School Students

Availability is very limited, but please complete an application to check if there are any openings or to be placed on the wait-list.

  • Concierge
    Provide concierge services, greet and direct visitors and patients, as well as escort patients and visitors as needed.
  • SMILE "Students Making Illness a Little Easier" Cart
    Our teen volunteers visit patients with their SMILE Cart, offering complimentary items, such as puzzle books, hand cream and lip balm, to patients and their families, in addition to visitors in all waiting areas.

Volunteer Opportunities for Adult Students (Clinical)

We hold quarterly New Volunteer Orientations in the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Please complete an application to be placed on the wait-list for the upcoming Orientation. During the 1-year period, you will gain experience in the following in-patient care departments:

  • Ambulatory Surgery
  • Cardiac Care
  • Emergency Care
  • Intensive Care
  • Medical / Surgical Units
  • Maternity Care

Volunteer Opportunities for Adults (General)

Accepting applications for all positions!

  • Concierge (Stationary)
    Provide concierge services, greet and direct visitors and patients.
  • Concierge (Mobile)
    Provide concierge services, greet and direct visitors and patients, as well as escort patients and visitors as needed.
  • Fall Prevention Coach
    Help set up and facilitate fall prevention classes for the Matter of Balance program. Partnered with a second coach, you will host classes that community members sign up for to learn about reducing falls and/or preventing serious injuries related to falling.
  • Gift Gallery
    Retail sales, utilizing cash register and credit card terminal or helping to inventory, stock, and price merchandise and gifts.
  • Hospitality Cart
    Set up coffee cart with supplies and offer patients coffee, cookies, and newspapers each morning.
