Marin General Hospital Foundation’s 25th annual goft tournament, A Taste of Hawaii, was held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Meadow Club in Fairfax.

Marin General Hospital Foundation’s 26th annual Golf Tournament, A Taste of Hawaii, raised over $330,000 in gross revenue for Marin General Hospital’s Nursing Education Program – A Journey to Excellence. The tournament was held on Monday, September 25th at Meadow Club in Fairfax. Event Co-chairs, Dr. Jim Dietz and Mike Stone, together with sponsors, opened the tournament the evening before with a festive dinner - complete with floral leis, hula dancing, fire dancing and drinks with umbrellas!

The tournament was filled with aloha spirit and weather conditions were on par with Hawaii as golfers teed-off to the sounds of the great conch shell. Hawaiian music and dancing was enjoyed at The Oasis. Unfortunately, none of our golfers won either Porsche provided by Porsche Marin (our Hole-in-One Sponsor). Our gratitude to our volunteers including numerous nurses and representatives from corporate sponsors.

Dr. Jim Dietz, our Emcee for the evening, shared how much the beneficiary program meant to him personally. “For the past 29 years I have had the honor of providing clinical care for community members, often, when they need it most. As you might imagine, after 29 years, my colleagues and I are much like family. We celebrate successes and support one another through tough times. And I could not do my job without the stellar nurses, throughout our hospital, who are dedicated to our patients. The nursing perspective is different from the medical perspective. I have learned so much about how to really care for patients from my nursing colleagues.”
