Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) produces images using a strong magnetic field and radio waves. The power of MRI is best exemplified in three ways. First, MRI uses no radiation. Second, MRI excels in demonstrating subtle differences in the tissues of the body, even within the same organ. Third, each MRI exam can be specifically customized for any given medical question being asked.
MarinHealth MRI
MarinHealth MRI is an accredited American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI scanning facility and the only outpatient imaging center in Marin County providing high-field MRI scanning services. This accreditation ensures the highest technical and professional quality of examinations for our patients. The American College of Radiology is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging and sets and constantly monitors quality standards to continuously improve patient care. MarinHealth utilizes the Philips Ingenia 3 Tesla (T) MRI system to deliver exceptional diagnostic quality. We are the only facility in the region with this first-ever high field strength digital broadband MRI scanner that offers a truly unique patient experience.
It’s Comfortable.
The Ingenia 3T, with its 70-cm bore, is more open and less confining than traditional 60-cm MRI systems. Our new MRI system was designed for patient comfort and features like ComforTone and the larger bore were designed to help our patients relax.
It’s Reliable.
The 3T technology allows us to deliver new levels of diagnostic detail and accuracy to our patients and their providers, pin-pointing the location and cause of problems. With the introduction of 3T availability in the North Bay, we are now able to offer enhanced imaging for various conditions including detailed imaging of the brain, head and neck, abdomen, pelvis, joints, and have expanded our services to include new forms of cancer imaging (such as prostate and rectal MRI).
