Katy McDermott, CDE, RDN

Katy McDermott is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator with 13 years of experience in nutrition education. She is dedicated to provide quality care and support to people with type 1, type 2, Gestational Diabetes, and Pediatrics.

She studied Nutritional Science at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her areas of nutrition have focused on cardiac, maternal, gastro-intestinal disorders, eating disorders and weight loss.

Katy has been active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes along with the American Diabetes Association. She has experience creating clinics for unique diabetes populations and teaching group classes.

Katy loves to spend time with her family and has a love for the outdoors, especially hiking with her yellow Lab. She also has a passion for healthy cooking and creating recipes. Katy strives to help patient’s feel empowered to take control of their diabetes and looks forward to helping the Braden Diabetes Center grow.
