Sarah S. Lowenthal, MD,CEDS-C

Dr. Sarah Lowenthal is a board certified physician who specializes in the medical management of eating disorders. With over 20 years of clinical experience, her clinical practice situated in Mill Valley provides specialized care for pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.

As a distinguished former member of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (Bay Area Chapter), Dr. Lowenthal is among a select group of primary care physicians in the United States to hold the designation of Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and Consultant & Supervisor (CEDS-C).

In collaboration with Marin County schools and Marin County Health and Human Services (HHS), Dr. Lowenthal conducts professional development, instructional workshops, and educational seminars for local clinicians, academic professionals, and guardians. Her professional excellence and clinical expertise has been consistently recognized, including "Top Doctor" honors from Marin Magazine in 2020 and 2026, as well as prior recognition in the Top 10 Metro Area Doctors in 2014, and as a Best Doctor by Oakland Magazine in 2012. Furthermore, she is a six-time recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award and a four-time recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Award.
