Dr. Maya Katz provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals with neurological disorders.

Dr. Katz received her Medical Degree from Cornell University. She completed her residency in Neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where she was appointed Chief Resident. She then completed Fellowship training in Neurologic Movement Disorders at UCSF Medical Center.

Dr. Katz later joined the neurology faculty at UCSF and Stanford Schools of Medicine, where she pioneered the integration of palliative care into the treatment of neurological conditions. This interdisciplinary holistic healthcare approach recognizes that neurological illness affects not just physical health, but also social, emotional and spiritual well-being. Clinical studies have shown that palliative care significantly improves symptom management and quality of life in a variety of neurological disorders.

Dr. Katz's treatment philosophy emphasizes this holistic approach while empowering her patients by incorporating neuroprotective, wellness and resiliency strategies alongside traditional medical and advanced treatments.

Dr. Katz is deeply honored to be able to care for her patients and their loved ones, ensuring they feel supported and heard at every step. Dr. Katz treats a wide range of neurological conditions, including but not limited to: Parkinson's disease and related disorders, essential tremor, dystonia, tics, balance disorders, strokes, headaches and memory disorders. She specializes in the use of brain pacemakers called Deep Brain Stimulators (DBS) to treat neurological movement disorders. She also administers Botox for conditions such as dystonia, spasticity and chronic migraines.

As an East Coast transplant, Dr. Katz loves exploring California's natural beauty. A retired gymnast, she stays active with acrobatics and swimming, and enjoys a daily mindful movement practive that includes Yoga and Alexander Technique.
