Mary Newberry Davis, CNM,MSN
Mary Newberry Davis has provided midwifery and women’s health care in the Bay Area for over twenty years and has worked at Marin Health since 2011. Mary has attended thousands of births and honors each birth as a unique and life-transforming experience for the birthing woman and her family. Mary complements obstetrical care with gynecological care across the lifespan. She enjoys working with teenagers and young adults and empowers these clients with knowledge so they can make educated decisions regarding their health.
After completing her graduate-level training at UCSF, Mary expanded her expertise and is a Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner. Her clinical work includes helping her midlife clients navigate the menopausal transition by offering them evidence-based information in order to make the best possible decisions during this time of change.
Mary is also a Neuro Affective Relational Model (NARM) Informed Professional, and her approach recognizes the impact of adverse life experiences on one’s overall health and well-being.
As a holistic practitioner, Mary aims to help clients find the root cause of their condition rather than simply treat their symptoms, and she encourages good nutrition and wellness practices for maintaining or regaining health. She takes a compassionate and non-judgemental approach to help clients navigate a path to health and well-being.
In addition to her work in both the hospital Labor and Delivery department and her office-based practice, Mary enjoys teaching. She is a guest lecturer at various Bay Area colleges where she speaks on midwifery and the politics of women’s healthcare. Mary lives in West Marin with her family.
