As a nurse for 15 years, and an NP for 4 years, Marcella Leath, DNP, CNS has gained valuable work experience in surgery and critical care medicine, organ transplantation as an Organ Recovery Coordinator, immunosuppressant research, and public and global health nursing during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

During the last year of her DNP, Marcella was a President's Fellow and co-authored a white paper about equity, diversity and inclusion. Her DNP Project incorporated a palliative care screening tool for patients admitted to the ICU to decreased time from admission to palliative care consultation.

Marclla has long been an advocate for patient autonomy and nurses rights through her work with professional nursing organizations at the state and national level.
