Hima B. Satyavolu, MD

Becoming a doctor has been my passion since I was a child. Growing up in a wonderful large joint family and watching my older cousin study medicine, I naturally gravitated towards medicine. I graduated from a medical school in India. I got married and moved to the US and did my internal medicine training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. It was interesting to observe the differences in practice patterns in different countries. I took up a career as a hospitalist at MarinHealth Medical Center right after my residency. We made Marin our home since 2007. It has been a pleasure to work with a wonderful team of doctors and other health care professionals at MarinHealth Medical Center. Working as a hospitalist has been truly rewarding for me. Getting the opportunity to care for sick people and helping them get better has been a gratifying experience. In addition to clinical work, I am passionate about contributing to developing standardized processes to increase safety and efficiency in health care systems.

I am married with 2 kids. During my free time, I enjoy being involved in activities with kids, traveling and reading.
