Dr. Nelson came to MarinHealth Medical Center 26 years ago from UC San Francisco, where he was the Director of the Hand Surgery Service. He has continued to be very academically active, lecturing nationally and internationally, most recently lecturing in India and Germany. He has been on the Board of Directors of the International Hand And Wrist Biomechanics Symposium since 1990, lecturing in Japan, Germany, Argentina, and Turkey. He has been the Director of the San Francisco Bay Area Hand Club since 1992 and has been on the Editorial Board of the Journal Hand Surgery since 1993. He has held a number of positions with the American Association For Orthopedic Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is an active lecturer for the Patient Safety movement, both locally here at MarinHealth Medical Center and nationally. He spends a lot of time with his patients, and most new patient appointments are 45 minutes. He has an extensive website, www.DavidLNelson.MD, where he has written many essays for patient education covering most common hand problems. He looks forward to serving you.
