David H. Goltz, MD
Dr. David H. Goltz specializes in the care of sports-related and orthopedic injuries in athletes and children. Fellowship-trained in sports medicine, he has particular expertise in knee ligament injuries and ACL surgery, knee replacement, shoulder and upper-extremity conditions, and fracture care.
He believes in maximizing non-operative treatment whenever possible, with the goal of helping patients safely return to full activity. When surgery is necessary, he uses proven, state-of-the-art techniques and brings the same advanced treatment and rehabilitation approaches used for elite athletes to every patient he treats.
As head team physician for the U.S. Olympic Freestyle Ski Team, Dr. Goltz has cared for athletes competing at the highest levels of their sport. He has had the privilege of marching alongside his patients in the opening ceremonies of two Winter Olympic Games—and watching some go on to stand atop the podium with gold medals. He brings that same level of expertise, precision, and meticulous care to patients here in our community.
A Marin native, Dr. Goltz combines decades of experience caring for national-team and Olympic athletes with a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to sports medicine and orthopedic care.
