Carolina Ellinger Da Fonseca, MD
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dr. Carolina Ellinger da Fonseca was a K-7 science teacher before becoming a pediatrician and having two kids herself. She fully understands how important, rewarding and challenging parenting can be. Dr. Fonseca loves working with families to meet them where they are and help in anyway that she can in order to make everyone's lives healthier and happier.
Taking care of people as a whole, which includes mental and physical health, is Dr. Fonseca's priority as a pediatrician. She has a special interest in helping pediatric patients with chronic pain and is passionate about our natural world. She has been working with climate change and health education since medical school and recently starting doing work in healthcare sustainability.
When Dr. Fonseca is not seeing patients at MarinHealth Pediatric Care, you might find her seeing patients in the hospital at UCSF Medical Center or spending time with her family, trying to stay physically active (hiking and kayaking are her favorite outdoor activities), listening to music, talking to friends and family or dedicating time to her climate change work.
