It’s A Girl! First Marin Baby of 2026 Makes an Entrance on January 1 at 4:48 a.m.
A baby girl, born to parents Barbara Campos and Caio Silva of Larkspur, claimed the title of “MarinHealth Medical Center’s First Baby of the Year” on Thursday, January 1, at the Mark & Stephanie Robinson Family Birth Center at MarinHealth.
The 8-pound 4-ounce baby girl was born at 4:48 a.m. on New Year’s Day. The parents named her Maria Eva. Maria Eva has a 2-year-old brother, Joao Pedro.
“Everything has been amazing, from the nurses to the doctors, everyone treated us with such kindness the moment we arrived,” said Silva. “Our baby surprised us by coming so quickly on New Year’s Day, and the team was incredible, truly. They were calm, attentive, and ready in an instant. Being cared for by many of the same nurses who delivered our son two years ago right here at MarinHealth made it feel even more special, like being welcomed back by family. We feel so grateful for the care, the celebration, and the beautiful arrival of Maria Eva.”
“We’re so happy to welcome this new baby into the world,” said Deanna Williams, MarinHealth Birth Center Director. “It’s such a happy way to begin the new year! In 2025 here at MarinHealth, we have experienced a 5% increase in overall births from 2024. We’re very proud to provide this beautiful place for families to welcome new additions to their families.”
