It’s A Boy! First Marin Baby of 2024 Makes an Entrance on January 1 at 6:14 a.m.

A baby boy, born to parents Daniel and Rayna Rodas of San Rafael, claimed the title of “MarinHealth Medical Center’s First Baby of the Year” on Monday at MarinHealth Medical Center.

The 7-pound 7-ounce baby was born at 6:14 a.m. on January 1. The parents – 27-year-old Daniel and his 30-year-old wife, Rayna – named the boy Daniel, after his father. Baby Daniel has a three-year-old brother.

“We weren’t expecting this today,” said the proud father. “We are very happy and think this is extraordinary because today is the first day of the year. It’s magical for us.”

“What a beautiful way to welcome in the new year!” said Deanna Williams, MarinHealth Director of Maternity Services. “We are so happy to offer our congratulations to this wonderful family! We’re also happy to share the exciting news that MarinHealth has recently relaunched in-person tours of our beautiful maternity unit. We invite expecting parents to contact us to get acquainted with this exceptional, modern space where we hope they’ll be going on their big day in 2024.”
