Judge Awards Marin General Hospital Additional $11M in Sutter Health Arbitration Case

GREENBRAE, CA — Following the declaration that Marin General Hospital was the prevailing party in the arbitration case with Sutter Health, JAMS Arbitrator Judge Rebecca Westerfield has awarded Marin General Hospital attorney’s fees and pre-judgment interest of $11 million. This is in addition to the more than $21 million she awarded the hospital in August 2012.

“We are hopeful that this decision marks the end of the long-running dispute between Marin General Hospital and Sutter Health, and that both organizations can once again focus 100% on meeting the health care needs of Marin and the North Bay,” said Lee Domanico, Marin General Hospital Chief Executive Officer.
