Julie Roddy, MA

After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Julie Roddy spent the first 20 years of her career in television production/advertising. And while this taught her a lot, it failed to satisfy her growing interest in nutritional studies. So after starting a family, Julie decided that rather than return to production she would go to school at Brooklyn College in New York City to get her Masters in Nutritional Science—which, in turn, lead to a specialized interest in diabetes research.

After Julie and her family moved to California, she began volunteering with the Braden Diabetes Center (BDC). This lead to getting licensed as a Medical Assistant to work with pediatric patients. With her license in hand, she began working with the inspiring people at BDC and trained as a DPP Lifestyle Coach.

Julie finds her work with BDC an incredibly rewarding experience, both in working with the pediatric population and in helping people who are pre-diabetic make positive changes in their lives.

Outside of BDC, Julie loves to spend time with her husband and two kids—especially in the outdoors taking advantage of the wonderful Marin lifestyle.
