Melanie Garcia, RN,MSN,AGPCNP-C

Melanie Garcia, NP, joins the Palliative care team with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. She is passionate about providing ongoing advanced care planning that honors the whole person and supporting patients through complex medical planning and decision making.

She earned her Master’s degree as an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner from UC San Francisco and is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Melanie has worked in diverse environments including; acute care, acute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, hospice, and perinatal care, and has volunteered with organizations including the Acute Care for the Elderly unit at UCSF and Zen Hospice. Melanie’s awards include the George S. Araki award for Academic Accomplishment and Outstanding contribution to Holistic Health, and the Nursing Honor Society Sigma Theta Tau. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, nature, yoga, and time with family and friends.
