Dr. Jamal Shillingford is a minimally invasive degenerative and robotic spine specialist. His training encompassed all areas of the spine, including complex cervical and thoracolumbar deformity, scoliosis, trauma, oncology, infection, cervical/lumbar degenerative spine conditions, and motion preservation surgery, in addition to specific training in minimally invasive spine procedures utilizing both robotic guidance and navigation as well as lateral and oblique interbody techniques.

Dr. Shillingford has managed to produce over 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts in addition to over 25 published abstracts, 10 book chapters, and over 50 academic presentations at some of the largest and most prestigious international spine conferences, including the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques (IMAST), Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS), and Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS). He is actively involved in the peer-review process for multiple scholarly orthopedic journals and is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), AOSpine North America, and North American Spine Society (NASS). He remains active in clinical research and device innovation.

Dr. Shillingford has made a lifelong commitment to providing the highest level of care to as many patients as possible and remaining at the forefront of the advancement of the field of spine surgery. His primary goal is to educate patients and provide them with a full understanding of their diagnosis, including the evidence-based non-operative and operative treatments for the management of their specific condition. He believes that the relationship between a physician and patient is of utmost importance and remains a critical aspect in the joint effort toward accomplishing the desired outcome.
