About This Event

If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes, join us for a FREE diabetes symposium. You’ll learn from our distinguished speakers, who will cover diabetes complications, GLP1-RA weight loss medications, and Emotional Brain Training (EBT), a simple, scientific method for rewiring the brain to reduce stress. Attendees can also meet with leading medical vendors and see their latest advancements, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).

About Our Presenters

Sharleen Sidhu, MD, MPH
Dr. Sharleen Sidhu is MarinHealth’s Medical Director of Endocrinology and Medical Director of the Braden Diabetes Center. She sees patients at MarinHealth Endocrinology and Diabetes Care | A UCSF Health Clinic, and her areas of interest include diabetes and thyroid disorders, including thyroid cancer. Dr. Sidhu practices evidence-based medicine, collaborates closely with her patients’ primary care physicians, and makes sure her patients understand and agree with their treatment plans and feel satisfied that all of their concerns and questions have been addressed. In her free time, she likes to travel, learn about different cultures, cook healthy meals, and to keep active through daily exercise, including hiking, spinning and running.

Laurel Mellin, PhD
Laurel Mellin, PhD is a health psychologist and New York Times bestselling author. She is the founder of emotional brain training (EBT) a new paradigm in healthcare of rewiring the stress circuits that cause obesity and most chronic diseases. She developed EBT during her more than 40 years as a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Her foundation certifies health professionals in EBT and she maintains a private practice in the method. Dr. Mellin is a native Marinite and resides in San Anselmo, with her husband Walt Rose, former MarinHealth board member.
